Get to know Atlantis Lake Joondalup Baptist College

Hello Families!

Welcome to Atlantis Lake Joondalup Baptist College (LJBC). We are a smaller service catering to families who attend LJBC Primary School.

Why choose us?

Our Educators are highly trained and professional, with a Qualified Calisthenics Coach and a Perth Glory Youth soccer player on staff to engage the children in productive physical activity.

We focus heavily on promoting a healthy lifestyle for our children, with highly nutritious meals delivered daily for them to enjoy and lots of Outdoor Play. We make good use of the large oval spaces, soccer goals, football posts and Nature Play area.

We also love to encourage imaginative play in our children by spending time in the Pirate Ship playground and Cubby House.

What our Centre offers Families

We understand how difficult it can be to have your child in OSHC, so we spend a lot of time and attention in making this a smooth and pleasant experience for both yourself and your child alike. Some of the things we offer are:

  • Family Workshops and Seminars on important topics
  • Regular and consistent communication via our Facebook Page, Parent Evenings and emails
  • Access to the Atlantis Families App – providing secure, real time updates so you can feel in-touch and up-to-date

In addition to this, we pride ourselves on getting to know your family. We will know you and your family on a first-name basis and will build a strong and meaningful relationship that enables us to work with you, in partnership with the school, to provide the best possible care for your little ones.

What makes our Centre special?

We are a dedicated team of Educators who are passionate about making Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) a place your children WANT to be, not just need to be. We provide a flexible and productive curriculum, based almost entirely around children’s needs and wants.

Our homework station is filled with all the essential resources children need to complete their homework whilst in Before and After School Care, meaning they have more time with you as a family when they get home.

Outdoor Play is a large component of our OSHC currciulum, as it becomes ever more important to encourage children to move their little bodies. Our children really enjoy role-play games in the themed playgrounds and nature walks around the school grounds.

One of our most treasured activities is Arts and Crafts. Whether it is painting, drawing, creating collages or even our own storybooks – there is always something artsy going on at LJBC.

Once a week, we dedicate a day to Science, as we have noticed overall popularity and interest in the subject. We conduct experiments, research projects and trial and error tactics to embrace our inner Mad Scientists and encourage the next generation of Einsteins!

A quick chat with your Coordinator Aimee

Hello Families, I am Aimee the Coordinator at LJBC.

I have been in the Early Education and Care industry for over ten years and have seen the industry change a lot over the years. I started as a Work Experience student in High School and am now proud to be the Coordinator for this service.

I was first drawn to the industry after having spent some time in OSHC myself and felt there was a lot that could be changed and made better for families and children alike. My aim is to make a difference in the lives of the children I care for and make sure they enjoy the time they spend with us.

I love that we get to make a difference and be such an important part of a child’s school life. I also love watching the children grow and helping them build up the necessary life skills they need to go out and venture into the world themselves. I am so touched that some of the children we have looked after still come in every morning for a visit on their way to class. It is my favourite part of my job watching the young children I care for grow through Primary School and get ready to enter High School.

I thoroughly enjoy my job, especially anything messy and creative! I am big on giving children the opportunity to express themselves through art and messy play. At the end of the day, they’re only young once.

I look forward to hopefully meeting you soon.

Aimee
