Growing Together: Celebrating Harmony Week in Early Learning
To celebrate the theme "Culture Connects Us All" and the powerful message that "Everyone Belongs," our children have spent the last few days exploring what makes our community a beautiful tapestry of traditions.
Our educators curated a series of immersive activities designed to spark curiosity and foster a sense of global citizenship from the ground up.
- The Power of Orange: Symbolizing social communication and meaningful conversation, our children were actively engaged in a variety of orange-themed experiences. From vibrant sensory play and orange-hued art projects to wearing their favourite bright outfits, the colour served as a sunny reminder of our commitment to inclusion.
- "World of Welcome" At the heart of our centres is their display boards. Some centres invited families and educators to share a piece of their heritage by writing the word “Welcome” in their home languages. This growing wall of words fosters a strong sense of belonging and shows our children that every language is respected and valued here.
- Connecting with Nature and Each Other: The highlight for many was their outdoor experiences. Children were able to explore the natural work together and strengthen their friendships outside the classroom. Seeing them play together in the sunshine perfectly captured the spirit of "Everyone Belongs."
Our hero shot is the group of passionate educators from Tall Tree Early Learning in Subiaco. We love that they dressed up in traditional clothing and showcased the diversity of their heritage.
