Early Learning Matters Week: Building Bright Futures from the Very Beginning

At Atlantis Group and Tall Tree Early Learning, we know that learning doesn't begin on the first day of school—it begins from birth.

Why Early Learning Matters

The first five years of a child's life are the most important period for brain development. During these years, children build the foundations for communication, social skills, emotional wellbeing, creativity, resilience and problem-solving.

Quality early learning provides children with opportunities to:

  • Develop confidence and independence.
  • Build meaningful relationships with educators and peers.
  • Strengthen language and literacy skills.
  • Explore early mathematics through play.
  • Develop physical coordination and healthy habits.
  • Learn how to regulate emotions and solve problems.
  • Discover the joy of curiosity, creativity and exploration.

These aren't simply "school skills"—they're life skills that help children thrive both now and into the future.

Learning Through Play with Purpose

At Atlantis Group and Tall Tree Early Learning, we believe children learn best through meaningful, play-based experiences.

Every activity, invitation to explore and conversation has purpose. Whether a baby is discovering different textures, a toddler is learning to share, or a preschooler is investigating how plants grow, our educators intentionally create experiences that encourage children to think, question, create and belong.

Our learning environments are carefully designed to inspire curiosity while supporting every child's individual interests, strengths and developmental journey.

We understand that every child learns differently, and we celebrate those differences by creating environments where children feel safe, valued and confident to explore the world around them.

Supporting Every Stage from Birth to Five

Learning looks different at every age, and our programs grow alongside each child.

Babies (0–2 Years)

Our youngest learners develop secure relationships with trusted educators while exploring the world through sensory experiences, music, movement, language and responsive interactions. These early connections lay the foundation for emotional wellbeing and lifelong learning.

Toddlers (2–3 Years)

As independence begins to flourish, children are encouraged to investigate, experiment and develop confidence through hands-on learning. Communication, social development and problem-solving become key focus areas as toddlers begin navigating friendships and expressing themselves.

Preschool and Kindergarten (3–5 Years)

As children become more confident learners, they are supported to develop the skills needed for future success through rich play experiences, collaborative projects and intentional teaching.

Ready, Set, School!

One of the ways Atlantis Group and Tall Tree Early Learning support children as they approach school age is through our Ready, Set, School! Program for children aged three years and above.

Rather than focusing on worksheets or formal lessons, our program builds genuine school readiness through engaging, purposeful experiences that develop the whole child.

Children strengthen skills including:

  • Early literacy and communication.
  • Numeracy and mathematical thinking.
  • Critical and creative thinking.
  • Confidence and independence.
  • Emotional resilience.
  • Self-help and organisational skills.
  • Collaboration, teamwork and problem-solving.
  • Concentration and persistence.

Most importantly, children develop a positive attitude towards learning and the confidence to embrace new experiences when they transition to primary school.

School readiness is about far more than recognising letters and numbers—it's about nurturing capable, curious and resilient children who are excited to learn.

Our Educators Make the Difference

Behind every meaningful learning experience is a passionate educator.

Early Learning Matters Week is also about recognising the dedication, knowledge and care our educators bring each day. They create environments where children feel safe to ask questions, take risks, celebrate achievements and develop a genuine love of learning.

Their impact reaches far beyond the classroom and often stays with children and families for many years.

Celebrating Learning Every Day

At Atlantis Group and Tall Tree Early Learning, we believe every interaction is an opportunity to learn, every child is capable, and every day is filled with moments that help shape future success.

As we celebrate Early Learning Matters Week, we're proud to stand alongside our educators, children and families in recognising the incredible value of early childhood education.

Together, we're building confident learners, kind friends, creative thinkers and resilient future citizens—one play experience at a time.

Happy Early Learning Matters Week!

Here's to celebrating the power of play, the importance of relationships, and the remarkable journey of learning from birth to five.
