Celebrating Simultaneous Storytime 2025 Across Our Centres
This year’s National Simultaneous Storytime 2025 was a joyful celebration of storytelling, curiosity, and connection across all our early learning centres. Children gathered in libraries, under shady trees outdoors, and within their learning environments to enjoy the featured book of the year—all at the same time!
But the story didn't end there. Across our centres, we extended the magic of the book into meaningful learning experiences that helped children explore the world around them and deepen their understanding in creative and playful ways:
🌱 From Paddock to Plate
Children explored where our food comes from—learning about farms, gardens, and the journey food takes to reach our plates. These hands-on investigations helped build awareness around healthy eating, sustainability, and appreciation for the people who grow our food.
👃 Exploring the Sense of Smell
Using herbs, spices, flowers, and natural materials, children engaged in sensory play that awakened their sense of smell and encouraged descriptive language and mindful observation.
🌏 Connection with Country
We honoured and celebrated our ongoing connection to Country, inviting children to explore Indigenous perspectives, listen to Dreaming stories, and engage with the land through nature walks and meaningful conversations.
💛 Kindness Tree
Our centres created beautiful Kindness Trees, where children shared how they show kindness—to friends, family, animals, and the environment. Their thoughts were turned into colourful leaves, building a visual reminder of the caring communities we're nurturing.
🌍 Say Hi in Another Language
We encouraged children to greet one another in a different language, fostering inclusivity, cultural awareness, and the joy of learning about others. Families were invited to share greetings from their own cultures, enriching our community connections.
Simultaneous Storytime 2025 was more than a shared reading—it was a celebration of learning, imagination, and togetherness. We’re proud to see our children growing as curious, kind, and connected little learners.
